Post Position Boxes and Ratings

Weighting Factors: “Post Position” box

This cluster of three (3) check boxes will provide input to adjust the weighted

handicapping algorithm.  These boxes adjusts for post position advantage.

The sliding scale below will determine the weighted value this cluster has on

the overall total points.  50% of the sliding scale value will be applied to the post

position selected, with 25% to the other post positions.  For example, if “Rail”

position is selected and the sliding scale value is 5, then horses at post positions

1, 2, and 3 will receive 2.5 points and all other horses will have 1.25 points.

Rail        if a horse is running a post position 1, 2 or 3,  credit is applied based up the

             sliding scale below.

4, 5, 6   if a horse is running a post position 4, 5 or 6,  credit is applied based up the

              sliding scale below.

Outside  if a horse is running a post position 7 or greater, credit is applied based up

              the sliding scale below.

Weighting Factors: “Post Position” rating

This sliding scale adjusts the weighted handicapping algorithm.  By increasing

the value of any factor (hold the left mouse key down while you slide the scale), that

criteria has a higher weighted value in the overall total points.  If a box is checked

within this cluster, the horses that meet the criteria, will be given points based up

the value of the scale.
